Introduction to Ode to Dunhuang

In 2008, the master of Chinese studies Wen Huaisha compiled the book Ode to Dunhuang.

In June of 2009, Mr. Wen headed to Dunhuang on an inspection trip, to present his book Ode to Dunhuang as a gift to the Dunhuang government.

While on his inspection trip, Mr. Wen went to the Yang Pass, where he penned the following quote in calligraphy for poet Ai Qing: “In its dreams, the silkworm could never have imagined it would churn out an entire Silk Road.”

With regards to Mingsha Mountain, Mr. Wen wrote the following piece of calligraphy: “Mingsha Mountain is worthy of its reputation.”

The above calligraphic works were presented to the Dunhuang government, and in so doing added to the cultural landscape of Dunhuang in the New Era.
