On 3 July, the Global Launch of 2022 Singapore International Piano Competition (SIPC) and Concert of Previous Gold Prize Winners was held at Winland International Finance Center. For the competition, we set sail again.
The Singapore International Piano Competition (SIPC) is jointly held by the Global International Musicians Association and the Singapore Music Teachers' Association. With top-level resources in the industry, the event is a Class-A one with professors from top music schools and best-known pianists and educators from around the world as its jury members. Since its inauguration, SIPC has gathered and nurtured over 300,000 piano students and young pianists worldwide, and the 2022 edition, further elevated, will be a world-class professional music competition.

Wang Xiaohan, artistic director of SIPC, said: “given the current global situation, we staged the first online edition of SIPC in 2021 and it was a great success. With the new structure, we received submissions from nearly 15,000 participants in over 30 countries, more than ever before. For the 2022 event, while continuing to look for potential top-notch players, we will strive to build the influence of the event in society at large and make SIPC an international music culture brand.”
Zhang Yimei, SIPC competition chair and president of Global International Musicians Association described the vision for this event: “Although we still won’t be able to meet face to face in Singapore at the 2022 event, we hope that the SIPC platform will gather everyone who loves piano and classic music despite geographic limits to feel the fascinating beauty of music.”
