The Gateway to Xiamen

Directly facing the Taiwan Strait, Xiamen Winland International Finance Center (“Xiamen IFC ”) is consisting of four high risers which form a shape of a gateway to the city of Xiamen that symbolizes its the open and accommodating culture. With its invisible core axis running across the strait and connecting the middle of Taiwan island, Xiamen IFC is the very first project in the core area of “Cross Strait Finance Center”.

As the lintel of the gateway, the cantilever connecting the two towers (T3) is the highlight of the project, its steel structure is also the most challenging part. The installation of thecantilever started at 2:30 pm, November 17, 2020. Spanning 60 meters and weighing 5,342 tons, this steel structure will be hoisted to a height of 165 meters where it will be installed and eventually connect the two towers. Given the extreme engineering complexity of the installation, cantilever method, hydraulic integral lifting technology and high-altitude second-tier lifting technology are all applied during the process.

Incorporated the most complex and challenging engineering technology, the project boasts the highest architectural standards in terms of landmark, arts and functionality.

The gateway symbolizes a bridge between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait that leads to a brighter future.
