From June 23 to 26, 2016, Long Ma undertook the second leg of its worldwide tour in Calais, France. In recent years, Calais, located on the bank of the English Channel, has borne the full brunt of the refugee crisis. In a bid to boost the morale of the city’s residents, who felt dejected and in low spirits, the mayor of Calais extended a personal invitation for Long Ma to come and perform in Calais. 
The performances, which went on for 4 days, brought with it a unique visitor count over 200,000, causing the local service industries to all operate above capacity.
The arrival of Long Ma brought with it considerable joy for the city of Calais, its residents and tourists, and thus greatly boosted the city’s morale.
