Winland Summer Concerts

2013The Winland Piano Recital

—— to Celebrate the Thirty-Ninth Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between China and Malaysia

Claudia Yang performed classics such as Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” Chopin’s “Grande Polonaise Brillante,” and Rachmaninoff’s “Ten Preludes.” The melodies of “Moonlight Sonata” move from graceful and quiet to light and lively to passionate and liberated, in order to depict both exquisite and agitated emotion. After calm and gentle foreshadowing, “Grande Polonaise Brillante” vividly presents the lively style of Polish dance music. “Ten Preludes” contains rich and varied motifs that highlight the difficulty of the technique and the romance of the emotion, drawing the listeners into this wonderful mood with the strains of the piano.
