Winland Summer Concerts

2010 Festival Croisements

—— Winland’s Night of Ravel

On May 15, 2010, at the invitation of Sylvie Bermann, French ambassador to China, and Adam Yu, famed French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet held the “Impressions of Ravel” Winland Piano Recital. This concert was the first time that Winland had participated in the Festival Croisements. Called the “alchemist of sound,” Ravel was one of the great composers of the twentieth century, and his music blended French refinement and Spanish passion. With his consummate skill, Bavouzet painted a portrait of the composer’s unique musical personality. The glorious profusion of sound from the Nessun Dorma grand piano created by Bavouzet’s fluttering fingers delighted each and every listener.
