“Blanc de Chine” International Artist Residency
Founded in 2016, the Residency Program is based on the cornerstone principles of openness, fairness and justice. Within its framework, international, outstanding contemporary ceramics artists and renowned contemporary artists are selected to come to China and partake in a creative residency.
The objective is to enhance international artists’ understanding of China’s porcelain culture and its fine historical and cultural heritage, boost international exchanges pertaining to contemporary ceramic art, and smooth the way for the integrative and innovative development of ceramic art and contemporary art.
The residency
venue is located in Dehua Prefecture in the city of Quanzhou (Fujian Province),
which boasts a 3700-year history of porcelain manufacturing, certified making
it the earliest cradle in the world for the making of porcelain. This translates
into an abundance of resource materials, an age-old porcelain culture as well
as a rich heritage of kiln sites.
